If we really want out, we should pull all troops and close all bases in the ME and SE Asia. and stop worrying about the Persian Gulf. course when something happens and oil can't reach us... I don't see it as an either/or proposition. We don't have to fight wars and invade countries needlessly, but we can maintain bases to show that we are not a paper tiger........and may be share that responsibility with some other nations.
