The local area is plagued by a small number of resellers who need margins around 50% or more to maintain their standard of living. I am willing to pay closer to 35% as a fair markup. I had one good reseller and spent around $20k with him over a few years and have not needed much since. The manager moved on and they have not had a decent buyer since. I won't buy from a grocery store and refuse to buy any wine that has not been bottled with cork. They are just a couple of quirks of mine. BTW if you can get any, try Peter Michael wines. The Chardonnay is outstanding as is the merlot and cabernet. It is also very pricey. Unfortunately his restaurant has been successful and he sends a large amount to it.
