I certainly can't prove it to your satisfaction, since you disagree with the generally accepted premise of economics referred to as the "Laffer Curve" anyway.

The only time when one could argue it was even borderline were the following --

a) 1988-90, @ 28%
b) 1991-92, @ 31%
c) 2003-09, @ 35%

All other periods were in the range of 39% or higher, which obviously are well beyond the optimal point.

If you want to argue about these years, we can, if you simply say, "Yes, I believe the Laffer curve to have significant applicability given our current economy and rate structure". If you can't say that, then there is no point arguing it.
