Silicon Partners

shlomi

did you listen to the conference call?
is it available in israel? (are you there?)

As expected, it looks like orctf will share revenues 50/50 on adsl and vdsl silicon with Harris and Fujitsu... As izhak said, "we have invested millions of dollars together with these partners on an equal basis... each partner - equal investments... when time comes for revenue sharing... we will share as we shared the investment..."

Revenue is expected at the end of '98... it will be interesting to see how successful the chips are as well as... who else ends up using them...

Conspicuously missing was discussion of an hdsl silicon partner although plans (including USA) were alluded to.

Apparently orctf is not currently selling hdsl in the n. american market... but when orctf's new hdsl "product" (silicon) comes along...orctf "will be a player" and "when hdsl 2 is introduced it will be a new game (in usa), bigger co's (than pairgain, adtran and adc..) will begin to manufacture..."

... initial introduction of orctf hdsl 2 product will be end of 98 or 99.

Also Izhak was asked what he thought about cdsl and other such low speed/low cost schemes. He didn't think they would be successful in the marketplace, as their main selling point was cost and orctf adsl silicon is expected to come in at the same price point with much better performance... From the tone of his comments, don't think orctf is involved. (although would not rule out involvement on a contract basis)

Would be interested if you hear anything on that 1 million line european tender for '98.
In general, orctf's adsl competition was named as alcatel, ericson and westell... (for both international and n. american markets)

best wishes
