Yes, IBD is great. However, I don't work in tech like you, and the Fortune article profiles several tech stocks that are news to me: SAP, Baan, Peoplesoft, among others. BusinessWeek also profiled them at the same time. If one isn't in techland, one has to hear about them someplace! SAP interests me. As for magazines, I don't subscribe to Fortune. I do, however, subscribe religiously to Forbes. But, back to Novartis, I did something interesting today: I flipped through the "ten largest holdings" pages of about thirty international mutual funds at Morningstar.net, and found Novartis listed at about 20 of them. It was listed as the very largest holding at several, including the stalwart American fund, Europacfic Growth, the well-known GAM International fund, and a Smith Barney Intl. fund (I should work for Smith Barney! I just bought Ericsson, which they listed 2nd !) . Anyway, two funds, curiously, also included Roche. Mmmmm. One also held Nestle. Of course, one never knows how long they have held such stocks. They may have accumulated them big in the past. But, certainly, Novartis is very much in play and has a lot of dollars chasing it. Visit Morningstar and see for yourself. Stay tuned. Tom from Georgia. P.S. I have used Acrobat a few times, but I don't understand what it is or why it does what it does. Thanks again for that info. |
