How do you feel about spending large amounts of money for a product made by a company that has a record of producing products and then abandoning it?

How do you feel about upgrading to a new computer format from a company who might not exist 6 months later. Would you really be one of the first to purchase a new computer product freshly rushed thru reserch and development and production?
