From Sly's latest. On this point I have to strongly disagree with Sly. They don't fear Sarah, she's fun to ridicule. She's an idiot. Anyone watching the Katie Couric interview in the fall of '08 can see her true colors. You want this person with nuclear capability?
As for fearing those to cling to God, Guns and Gold (they're not the same group), I would postulate the Christian Right has played a very large part in the downfall of America by worrying about bullshit issues. War on drugs, moral values, gay marriage, gays in the military, can't question any wars or you're unpatriotic. Of course they'll also the party with the most closeted homosexuals. Reeks of hypocrisy. So why are they responsible? Previously the Republican party stood for financial conservatism and smaller government (at least far more than Dems). Can't say the same anymore. When they came along we had Reagan start this whole budget mess and then they were mostly responsible for electing Bush...twice. Sickening that they are somehow our Saviors now. As a group they are incredibly misguided, ignorant and heavily partisan. All traits I can live without.
Nothing changes till both parties and all the partisan assh*les are gone.
Overall I like Sly's postings and feel he's opening some eyes lately, but when it's comes to the Christian right I just can't agree. |
