I was listening to the radio this evening and was shocked to find out that Japanese hospitals pay half the price for an MRI machine than US hospitals pay. I know this is true with drugs, but medical equipment?!? And this is from US manufacturers like GE.

What does it take to get the people pissed off about the way we are getting ripped off? What does it take to get people to realize we are subsidizing the medical treatment of the world? We are competing in a world market with a huge disadvantage.... they are buying wholesale (single payer) and we are buying retail.

Every time you go to the doctor you are paying for other countries health care with about 50% of the cost in direct payments or with your insurance premium.

That's got to piss you off. Right?
