OK, great. So we're in the same ballpark. My point is don't assume that you have all the answers. The fact is that most of the points are highly debatable. I have a rule of thumb to distinguish between fact and fantasy. If something has worked in the past, then keep trying it again to see if you can reproduce that success.

The only time this country has ever seen surpluses in my lifetime was during the Clinton administration. That era saw spending cuts and tax increases by both the GOP and Dems. So my advice to the current GOP is stop trying to lower taxes and get on board with raising taxes. And my advice to the Dems is stop spending so much damn money and get on board with the GOP on cutting back on some of the big ideas.

And my advice to both parties is move very fast and without reservation to invest heavily in renewable energy to secure our place at the forefront of that new industry, so we can secure most of the new wealth that will be created by it.
