You may be misinformed.

The US has come much closer to kyoto protocols than any of these supposedly superior nations.

The target agreed upon was an average reduction of 5.2% from 1990 levels by the year 2012.

By 2007 the U.S. had increased emissions by 16.8%. By 2007 several European countries had cut their emissions, some have exceeded the Kyoto targets.
