” You started off a bit strangely by going from what is naturally right to Natural Rights."

I don’t know what is strange about that.

”So I suppose the first thing to ask is: what do you mean by natural:”

'Natural’ is the quality or condition of nature that befits a particular creature.

"and do you see those two things (naturally/natural right/rights) as synonymous?"

I see them as synchronous.

”Also I think you need to clarify what you men by right and rights and on what natural basis they would or should be considered as such.”

A right based on nature regards the essential condition of a creature. We don’t consider it a right of the willow to be concerned for the birds nesting in its branches. We consider such portrayals preposterous except when in a cartoon as personifications, since it is an essential condition of persons to be endowed with that psychological construct. We consider it a right of plants not to suffer needlessly at the hands of human beings, as per pollution. We consider it right for human beings to have concerns about polution. In that sense, all creatures have rights over human beings, the rights to have their well being regarded (as in idea #2).

”If? Come on.”

All proclamations are based on some assumption. Assumption, however, can carry a wide range of connotation. An assumption can be forwarded in the null, as in ‘assuming you were right…’. An assumption can include the suspension of something you hold to be true for the sake of argument or as in theater for the sake of letting your imagination go. An assumption can also be at the foundation of something for which you are absolutely convinced. Scientific research and empirical evidence is based on some underlying assumption, as is belief in a world view or understanding of existence.

The assumptions of the rights in the Declaration of Independence are stated in the document itself.

I haven’t denied assumption. I am convinced the assumptions underlying my statements are sound, but I am open to discussing specific criticism.

”That Document was written by Theists and was based on Theistic assumptions. Yours is built on...?”
