The fact is that the Dems didnt' run anything in the last 2 years of the Bush admin. They had 47 Dem Senators, 2 Independents, one of which consistently voted with the Republicans (Lieberman), and 2 vacancies. At any given moment, at best, they could count on 48 votes. So not only did they not have a clear majority, the GOP launched more filibusters in that 2 year period than the previous 10 years combined. So even if the Dems had a 60 Senator majority to overcome the filibuster, Bush would have vetoed it.

The bottom line is that the GOP had full power through 2006 and most of the power through Jan 20, 2010.

Any denial of those facts is just shifting blame from the GOP. Wake up and take responsibility for a failed party, so that you can change it and make it better.
