I just sent the following message to a co-worker. He said he was going to sign and I anticipate he will also pass it along. Feel free to cut and paste my message.

Dear .....I've bought shares in Allan Vanguard last year. On Sept12/09 they advised stockholders they are being bought by a private company and all shares held are null and void. Our group has gone to a lawyer, and they've launched a Class Action suit. However, we need signatures on our petition. The reason being is that we are trying to stop the private sale. Other companies are watching what will happen, and many companies will follow suit and cut their shareholders off with nothing, claiming to go private, and you're out of luck.
This will set a VERY BAD precedence in Canada. We need 1,000 signatures. We only have 131 at present. Would you PLEASE sign the petition. You don't have to give your name/address, just your email address will count. Would you then kindly pass this petition along to your friends/relatives who also hold stock, because they too could be subject to the same thing if this is allowed.
Allen Vanguard is soon going in front of a judge (rather than declare bankruptcy) in order to allow the sale to go through. We have to stop it. Everyone with any stock has to stop it. Please add your name to our list.
