I understand that's a risk, but I believe its relatively low, assuming you don't go crazy. X-ray's every month, well then your noticeably adding to the risk, every couple of years not so much.

I came across an article somewhere that the exams (radiation and various compressions) increase the cancer risk by 2%.

If that is the case (2% increase in risk of cancer), and a woman starts getting these at 40, by the age of 75, she has double her risk of breast cancer.
