NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray said Friday the lawsuit he filed against three ratings agencies is not intended to become a class-action lawsuit.

Cordray said earlier Friday he has sued Standard & Poor's Ratings Services, a unit of McGraw-Hill Cos. Inc. (MHP); Moody's Investors Service, which is part of Moody's Corp. (MCO); and Fitch Ratings over their ratings of various investments ahead of the financial crisis.

He noted the state of California has filed a similar case.
