I'm actually thinking of drastically reducing my gold
stocks portfolio. Looked at these Canadian and American
miners that compose holdings of GDX and GDXJ, and valuations
are quite high relative to reserves. The RSA POSes are the
only cheap gold stocks out there, but for a good reason -
they are close to broke, and Ezcom hikes of 45% per year
for 3 years could ensure they will remain in that state. What
use is a stock if its a mine or a promise of a mine trading at
a high fraction of all gold in the ground?

You can actually capitalize on SA and POS misfortune, by
getting long physical Pt and Pd. The demand side suffered from
auto production cuts, the supply side is 80% South Africa.

There is Peak gold, FWIW. Gold production peaked in 2001.
