>> Interestingly enough, the website that you called a liberal rag has a post that seems to support your assertion.

It isn't like there is doubt about this subject. There are several fundamental problems with this legislation that, ultimately, will cost the taxpayers trillions of dollars.

To pay for the legislation the bill the CBO would establish an advisory board which would be responsible for cutting massive sums of money out of Medicare as "waste, inefficiency, fraud and abuse". The problem is they have tried to do this for 20 years and have never been successful, yet if they are unsuccessful now, the taxpayers have to pick up the tab.

The mandates for state Medicaid programs are huge, and nobody REALLY knows how huge or how the financially broke states are going to pay for this. Well, The Louisiana Purchase helps them for a few months with $100 Billion. But I don't know what other states are to do.

Doug Elmendorf himself has clearly stated he has no idea how it is going to get paid for. He clearly states that things have to happen that there can be no assurance will happen.

These are the remarks of a man who is being constrained by CBO guidelines in what he can and cannot say, who has taken the extraordinary measure of qualifying his opinion in a BLOG in an effort to get his message out.

This bill will end up costing the taxpayers trillions we cannot afford just as has Medicare.
