The (R)'s were invited to participate early on, by Obama himself, and at SEVERAL junctures, refused, and eventually the (D)'s just gave up on the idea. The (R)'s weren't interested in being constructive - only obstructive, all along.

Screw 'em. They had a chance to be on the RIGHT side of history for once. This will go down with SS and Medicare as yet ANOTHER extremely popular social program the (R)'s OPPOSED.
