<<What happened to the famed rugged American individualism? We'll all be collectivists now, even those who are being dragged kicking and screaming.>>

Some individual rugged Americans are bankrupt because they can't afford to pay their medical bills.

They can't afford the present day health care premiums, so they gamble they don't need coverage, and so, become rugged bankrupt Americans if serious health issue strikes.

Of course the rugged individual American changes his tune, when health care is covered at age 65, then he changes his stripes into a lover of "socialism.".. tolling ""don't mess with our beloved medicare!""

<<..Social Security is currently the largest social insurance program in the U.S., constituting 37% of government expenditure and 7% of the gross domestic product[6] and is currently estimated to keep roughly 40% of all Americans age 65 or older out of poverty....>>

Don't worry, if 250, million rugged individual Americans are covered under the new program, you will all be first in line for treatment... no waiting in lines for you !!for...America has the best health care in the world.! <g>
