There is no kind of insurance other than socialized insurance -- insurance is, by definition a socialized approach to risk management.


There are two aspects which you assume are one thing. They are not. 1) is the insurance function, 2) is how each individual pays for that insurance. My preference is for 1) to be based on private enterprise, while 2) can be tax based redistribution of wealth for those who can't afford it at the low end of the economic spectrum.
