IMHO, the biggest threat to the elites is real estate going down. If they could somehow get it up....they would. But, how can they? Inflate. If they got it up....foreclosures would slow. If they got it up enough....people would be back to the cash-out ATM machine. If they got it up enough, people would invest in housing again and renovate and spend. If they got it up enough, it could create some jobs. They would have to inflate big-time though, IMO. Hyper-inflation could actually bring some manufacturing back also....but it would be a painful adjustment, IMO.
