Yes, that's a big if, isn't it? I watched a CNN anchor asks 3 Dems if they would promise to vote in those future cost cuts and hold the line against push back and not one of them went on record to promise that. As you said, we shouldn't hold our breath.

Now for the other side of the coin. At least the Dems are trying to pay for their legislation. The GOP under Bush Jr. not once tried to pay for any legislation they proposed and it resulted in the deficits we face now. So we can all throw stones at the Dems, but at least they are trying.
