You DON'T KNOW where the attack might come from, yet you believe invading Iraq and Afghanistan makes us safer.

Of course, GWB decimated AQ in Afg. which was important in insuring no further attacks during his tenure.

The Iraq War was a long-term measure which reduced the long-term exposure through promoting freedom and democracy in the region as well as putting leaders in the region on notice that we WILL respond (since, after 8 years of Clinton, the question was in doubt).

The Iraq War has been a resounding success, though taking longer than anticipated and could still be screwed up by Obama. We have now seen leaders in Libya and Lebanon respond to it, and we did see Iranians demand their own freedom in part, at least, due to the Iraq War (although Obama totally bungled the American response like a high schooler).

And the real benefits of the Iraq War will only become obvious down the road as the liberal historians begin to understand what the neocons and GWB easily comprehended.
