Speaking to a prospector yesterday who has a deposit on which he staked the federal mining rights. Meridian (now Yamana) owns the surface rights. Mining rights trump surface rights! However, Yamana attitude is "screw you" "if you don't like it sue us". Prospector said it would be easier to deal with the Sierra Club than deal with Yamana.
