It is perfectly possible to know quite a bit about terrorism without being obsessive about the details of a particular act. It is not credible for ANYONE to claim to be knowledgeable about Islamic terrorism and not know who KSM is (btw, KSM wasn't involved solely in a "particular act"). It is safe to say that no person knowledgeable on the subject would NOT know who KSM is. It just isn't remotely possible. You could know a lot about terrorism before 1993 without knowing about KSM. Anyone purporting to know anything about terrorism occurring after that date would have to be familiar with KSM to substantiate that claim.
