Re: "I find it interesting that the liberals can just print money to pay for all these stimulus packages"
I don't really recall all of the financial details of this Spring's "stimulus package"... but weren't there some spending "off-sets" included in that package at the time? I mean, didn't they claim that it was "paid for", not simply placed on the national credit card. (Whether, in fact, that is 100% true or not is another matter. But, in any event, the actual SPENDING part of it was not all that massive as big government programs go, given that it was a one-shot-deal and not a new entitlement like the Medicare part D thing was. And, of course, about 40% of the "stimulus" consisted of tax cuts and various tax incentives, not spending.)
Re: "and obama's healthcare pipe dream, but when it comes to funding a war for our very national security these liberal discover fiscal responsibility and now want to impose a war tax..."
What's "liberal" about actually PAYING for our wars?
Haven't we done that (as best we can, in real-time as much as possible) through TAXES and tax increases for every single big war in the entire history of our country (including Vietnam even! I remember the 10% income tax surcharge!) up until Bush *didn't do* that with these latest two wars?
Which, by-the-way, have NOW GONE ON for longer then WW II, or the Korean War, or even the long Vietnam War did... and now exceeds the cost (in real, inflation-adjusted Dollars) of the Vietnam War itself....
So WHAT EXACTLY is "Liberal" and what is "Conservative"???????
I say that actually PAYING (in as close to real-time as can be managed... the generation running the war actually paying for it instead of passing it's costs along to the yet-to-be-born kiddies) for the wars is what is Conservative.
And that sliding the costs along by borrowing it all is what is "Liberal". |
