James and David: Thanks for your thoughtful replies. As to the Nov. calls: the only reason that I was considering selling them for 1/4(that's all they're worth) is because I feel that the next few weeks will see a spike or two downward by the market which would almost assure that they will expire worthless. Unless BORL has some unforseen BIG announcement very soon(and they are not noted for publicity plays), I don't think the market will take BORL above 10 anytime soon. I'll see what happens next week, but will be mighty quick to pull the trigger unless we get an upward bias. As to the Jan calls: the earnings announcement date is a problem, but sometimes (often as a matter of fact) word seems to get out several days ahead of the announcement that earnings will be good, and the stock gets a lift. I'm not sure xmas will have much effect on BORL, James, unless there is an overall market bullishness around the end of the year. But certainly, more time is available to watch the market, but I agree with David......get me even, and I'm out. As to the longer term: I'm going to hold the 99's, and probably buy some oo's if things go moderately well. I still believe that (even with this Asian debacle) BORL is a good stock, a great turnaround story with good management in place; if held for 12 to 18 months, a 100% return can be expected.......maybe more, maybe sooner. Again, thanks for your input. Cheers, Jack Gibson |
