I would have loved the interviewer to ask what media they watch. The one guy did say that he gets all his news from Fox. To me, the most fascinating part of the Palin phenomenon is the Know Nothing aspect. (DISCLAIMER: THe original Know Nothings indeed did know something; they just chose not to disclose it. The new Know Nothings really don't know anything). We saw the beginnings of this deliberately dumb movement with the folks who cast their POTUS ballots based upon who they'd rather have a beer with. I see it as a symptom of the common folk sensing that something is amiss with the political system, but not being informed or astute enough to what exactly what, they choose to displace potential knowledge with their feelings instead.
