If the Big Three were thriving, Detroit would be fine.

Some of the factors that contribute to the big three not thriving are "private unions, high tax rates, overly interventionist state and local government". Those same factors also act to prevent replacement industry from developing.


Ugh! Only you die hard ideologues believe that rot. The Big Three died because they were arrogant, poorly managed, and gave their customers the kind of cars they thought their customers should drive......not the kind of cars their customers wanted. Their competitors were smarter, innovative and gave their customers what they wanted. [End of story]
