in 1992 i had done china project for aussie gypsum processing entity, and know a bit about sulfur content. poor mine should be avoided whenever possible, and poor processing should always be avoided. but when usa biz folks go for "lowest cost", invariably the road would lead to poorest processing of the outputs from worst mines, full stop. this story is no different than the mattel specified lead painted toys, and the oregon company processed pig intestines so favored as a china play by cb ilaine.
