My memory is that Obama and the Democrats pounded Bush for years that Afghanistan was were the important war is. There is no way to be energy independent of that area in a globally interdependent world. I expected the One to be able to convince the Euro's to provide more support in Afghanistan. With this he has been a miserable failure.
