John, I emailed your broker and we discussed a few things and this is what I take from it. The read-only file was part of the WIN98 BETA. If you didn't have the WIN98 BETA then you couldn't read it - A non issue. His concern was with the JAVA version being able to work with Win98 - something that I consider a BETA issue and irrelevant at this time. JOT is going to ship a JAVA version soon (no exact date as far as I know). I haven't heard of any problems with that version. The focus should be on the soon to ship JAVA version and not on a future BETA. This whole issue got sidetracked big time about a BETA and needs to be put to bed. WIN98 is way too far down the road to even worry about right now. liam.
