The next time someone tries to compare fundamentalist Christians who disapprove of homesexuality and might not support, say, same-sex marriage with fundamentalists Muslims by calling them "The American Taliban" point out that while both positions may not be supportive of certain gay rights that there is a world of difference between trouble getting health insurance and throwing you off a cliff.

Have you ever read what conservatives say about gays and what they wish for them? The only difference between the Taliban and American 'Taliban' is that the American 'Taliban' act on their thinking only occasionally. Otherwise, both are spawned from the same seed of relgious self righteousness and anger.
