I agree that evil people can and have used all sorts of excuses to justify their evil deeds. The real question is; are those actions consistent with the claimed justification? In the case of neo Darwinism, the answer is absolutely. The strong will always overpower the weak and there is nothing immoral or unethical about it, it's just the way the universe is.

On the other hand most of the atrocities that were and are committed under the cover of Christianity are starkly in opposition to the teachings of Jesus. The same cannot be said for Islam as Mohamed used violence and deception in the name of his god: so do his followers.

In the case of the recent shooter at Fort Hood who shouted "Allah Akbar!" in the act of killing and the school shooters who made direct claims to their Darwinian motivations; these people were acting in a manner that is perfectly consistent with their stated beliefs.
