Gary, congratulations on successful surgery, and best wishes on your recovery.

Like you, I participated in government-run healthcare, as a military brat, when I was a child. During a career in the field of rehabilitation, I knew many people who received excellent healthcare through Medicare and Medicaid. It seems to me that extending Medicare/caid availability to everyone, on a sliding fee scale, would solve the uninsured problem without opening up healthcare to government direction nor the special interest Christmas tree that Congress is creating by writing rules.

Why do we need the cumbersome legislation with attendant private deals when we could simply enlarge a successful model?
