If Medicare founders (why the IF?) it will be because there is no procedure it will not pay for, multiple times. I've now had 4 CAT scans and 2 MRI's in my little adventure with prostate cancer. Were all of them necessary, or were some just done to confirm a marker placement or to confirm the extent of the disease?

Rationing will have to come in somewhere, but that's a third rail. As a result, Medicare WILL founder under its own weight.

When I go back up to Duke on Monday I'll try to find out if my death panel has convened yet. It might save me hotel expense.
