I would also like to bash Port Coquitlam. I just bought a used truck off a Ford dealer in Poco and the bastids tried to force me to buy a $500 5 year coverage that would cover my ICBC deductible if the truck was stolen in the next 5 years.

It was listed as a "fee" and not revealed by the salesman prior to my signing the deal, but added in as a line item by the "write up the bill of sale" guy.

I said I was not going to pay it, and he said that it was dealership policy that all vehicles that leave the lot have to pay it. A blanket policy he called it. I said that my policy was not to pay BS fees.

He said I had to pay as he doesn't make the policy. He said that if I didn't want the policy, he could just not write it up, but I had to pay anyway. He also offered to just add it to the price of the truck.

"OK bring in the guy who makes the dealership policy then."

Guy stomps out of his office and comes back a few minutes later. Doesn't say a word, just tosses the original bill of sale in the garbage and prints out another one without the fee.

Friggin Poco bastids LOL.

Nice truck 2003 Explorer 38.800 km air leather sunroof tow package and all the other toys. $14.250 before taxes, and I had them toss in a front and rear brake job. Ran an ICBC vehicle check. no accidents and not imported.

Why buy new?
