Yousef, Andrew Grove spoke addressing the Detroit Electronics Club this week. When asked to comment about direct competition grove stated that Intel was not worried about direct competitors, he worrys more about stratigic suppliers of critical materials Intel could not operate without. Price cuts are made not out of competition but with intent to grow the market for CPU's, to maintain the perception of value. When asked about Merced Grove said he could not build it today and hoped it would be ready for sale during the third quarted of next year. When asked why it was important he said It would be build on a 64 bit processor instead of the 32 bit processor. He said there are 12,000 plus people working on it's development. Hay! that's as many people as AMD employes in total. Is this not yet another example of All the King's (Grove's) hoarse's and all the King's men couldn't put humpty dumpty together again. AMD has the 64 bit chip technology and sould be out with the .25 as early as this quarter. Intel is playing second fiddle. Yousef, again you don't know What's what. If you did yould be a junoir at Perdue.
