Rich

I ain't qualified to give you a cogent answer.

But I don't think we could "print dollars" forever
to pay back our debt. The thinking being that as
we print and print (all else equal) we are paying
back our lenders with debased USA dollars.

OTOH

Hawk brought up the point today - that in spite of
our 2008-2009 massive printing thingie - YIELDS on
10 Yr and 30 Yr treasuries are DOWN - suggesting that
IN SPITE OF ALL THE PRINTING - lenders would rather hold
USA debt vs some alternative ......

i.e. the YIELDS are down because foreign lenders
are "fighting" to buy our treasuries .....

You might want to ask your question to Hawk or
Skeeter Bug or one of the other economic literate
people your question.

regards
John
