DT/ VDSL greetings shlomi agree that q4 should be good, also...q4 is traditionally the strongest.. DT as a customer for adsl over isdn would seem to fit, and good news if true... also all signs point to DT as a big customer for orctf vdsl... DT lab tested orctf vdsl late 96.... and DT started field trials with orctf equipment in late summer of this year.... (and would thus would probably account for most of the $150k vdsl q3 revenue) DT has stated that most of their customers are within the reach capabilities of vdsl... 90% within 500 meters of local exchanges... and that they are studying vdsl as "one of the keys to providing broadband access" DT has expressed interest in symetric vdsl transmission... which orctf was able to provide for the field trials (26 mbps each way)... orctf/harris silicon is a major effort and now in a very advanced stage of development... in may of 96 orctf/harris together had a team of 40 engineers on the project... 2q conf call Tamir reported that samples were testing "very good"..... no update this last call... this new vdsl silicon due in 98 and wouldn't be surprised if it arrives before either the new adsl or hdsl... and a little more on the $150 k vdsl revenues from conf call: "(this quarter)...shipped to 7 companies around the world... before a few thousand/$10-20,000 / qtr... major telephone co's (now) moving into field trials for vdsl.." would be interesting to ask Tamir for an update on vdsl silicon... and if any of the new vdsl silicon has been included in the DT trial... missed VOCLF... was vaguely aware of the story, but focused elsewhere... voice over ip will be huge (and with xdsl speeds should be a slam dunk)... hope you were/are in... nice run.. best wishes s
