"If it's your intent to assert that we're spending too much money to safeguard and protect the lives of our soldiers, you've made a convincing argument."

Hawkmoon, if it's your intent to prove that you're a black and white thinking, ideologically blinded partisan who is totally incapable of seeing the other side of any argument whose conclusion offends your cheer leading, you've made a convincing argument.

But I'll talk really, REALLY, loudly and slowly so that maybe the logic will get through your out of control, "we're number 1" emotions:

I'M ASSERTING THAT WE CANNOT SPEND ENOUGH MONEY TO SAFEGUARD THE LIVES OF OUR SOLDIERS. WE DON'T HAVE THAT MUCH MONEY AND MONEY WON'T PROTECT THEM WHEN THE ENEMY ENJOYS TOO MUCH SUPPORT AMONG VARIOUS AFGHAN FACTIONS, THEY HAVE THE MEANS TO KILL US AND CONTINUE KILLING US, THEIR IDEAS ARE TOO STRONG TOO KILL WITH BULLETS AND WE HAVE TO DEFEND AGAINST ATTACKS THAT CAN BE CHEAPLY AND SAFELY LAUNCHED AT TIMES OF THEIR CHOOSING, PLACES OF THEIR CHOOSING AND THROUGH METHODS THEY CHOOSE.

Now, how you morphed that into some "you don't want to spend the money to safeguard the lives of our troops" hysterical rant is a mystery. As I've said before, if this is how you worked in Iraq then the money the Bush people spent sending you there as an analyst was money poorly spent. Ed
