Absolutely correct. I admitted large numbers of indigent immigrants with serious medical conditions.

I always said if you want someone to send out indigents to die, you will have to find someone else to do it. Actually many were in no danger of imminent death but nonetheless needed complicated and expensive in hospital treatment.

Sometimes they even had to be admitted because there was no place to send them for outpatient care.

The cost of this, of course, is tremendous and in some way or another is borne by all of us.
