Sold my last Dell shares today.

First time in 16 years without any Dell shares, but I'm sitting at my 2-year old Latitude that crashed and shut down today like it does without warning so often, so I don't feel quite as bad. The 3-year Gold warranty service people, who answered promptly, spoke English well, and politely ran me through extensive diagnostics over the phone, said everything works fine, goodbye.

To be fair, my friends with HP's are just as annoyed.

Might get back in at some point, but for awhile now I just haven't felt that Mikey "gets it," or if he does, that he doesn't care like he used to.

Maybe the growing realization is that premium parts and features have become so cheap that we're nearing the day when they'll all be standard, and customization doesn't offer any added value. A big blow to Dell's build-to-order model.

What's Morton Topfer doing these days?
