There ya go. There's like 15 million kids who are unemployed and not rushing to enlist. Either they ain't hungry enuf (I'll feed my kids until I die if it will keep them out of the recruiting office), or it ain't worth their blood. Make them put their lives on the line and they'll be in the streets, and so will their parents.
