I have to disagree with that.
Tiger Woods has been a great role model.
He is one of the "class acts" in all of sport.
The guy signs autographs all day long, is always polite
and professional, and is a great ambassador for his sport.
You can not put him in the same group as for example, the
NBA players featured in that Sports Illustrated expose` a few
years back which featured players with 7 kids by 7 different
mothers, in 7 different visiting team cities...
Shawn Kemp comes to mind.
No comparison.
Tiger in my opinion, did not lead the life of a hypocrite,
nor is he an arrogant, self-centered, selfish, spoiled brat
like many professional athletes are.
Mickey Mantle was a drinker and a womanizer.
So was Babe Ruth.
So are hundreds of other sports legends who haven't been
caught, and smeared by the press.
America loves to tear down heros and those at the top.
Occassionally it's justified, with Tiger it's not.
He's human like all of us.
He made a big mistake, he's going to pay a big price, and
perhaps, so will Nike.
Let him work it out with his wife as a private family matter.
The media frenzy should end, here and now. The bigger sin would
be to give the professional groupie (this wasn't her first celebrity rodeo)
20 minutes of fame, and a chance to cash in.
Seeing her lawyered up with Gloria Alred should speak volumes.
That's my .02 cents.

In baseball you get three strikes, surely Tiger Woods
deserves at least one. |
