What's worse, Lord Monckton says that there were only two terrestrial temperature record sets, CRU/Hadley and GISS/NASA, and that they have been closely correlated to each other by members of the "The Team", as he calls it, working in both places. Even worse, the two sets of satellite data, which do not measure temperature directly, had to be correlated with the land based data to be used at all, so if the land numbers are tainted, the satellite numbers are tainted too. The only numbers which are not tainted are raw numbers from good stations (not stations next to heat vents, etc) and the ARGO deep ocean buoys, which have been in operation since 2003. The ARGO buoys show no warming whatsoever.
Lord Monckton quotes the New Zealand numbers, where the raw data is available to the public. Mysteriously, the officially announced results used by the IPCC show warming; but the raw numbers show no warming. The official numbers have been processed in such a way as to artificially decrease earlier temperatures to magnify warming. |
