And what are the Taliban doing to an EVEN GREATER degreee? Unfortunately people die in war. You don't need to tell an Afghani about that. They've been at war for over 30 years now. They are a society, the majority of which are young people, who have known NOTHING BUT WAR for most of their lives.
You see this where your blinders need to come off. The Afghanis never attacked us. They do not know where America is on the map. It is us that went there and screwed their country.

So it takes a lot of balls for someone like you to suddenly show concern for "innocent lives" when so many of them have been lost LONG BEFORE the US ever got involved in the region.

Nothing more chaotic than an Asymmetric war where your conventional strategy is OBE and you suddenly have to think out of the box, and at a tactical level.
Yes, however, we are making the same mistake that we did in Vietnam, toss more people into the war zone. You need fewer well trained men (spec op) on the ground to do the job.
