"I think we need a permanent base in Aghanistan to be able to secure the nukes in N. Pakistan" It wouldn't surprise me if that was part of the discussion. The Pakistan situation is only getting worse. It doesn't get much play in the US media, but other sources indicate that the Paks are in serious trouble.
