Yes, however, we are making the same mistake that we did in Vietnam, toss more people into the war zone. You need fewer well trained men (spec op) on the ground to do the job.

YOU NEED BOTH!! SpecOps to operate unconventionally, as well as for training the indigenous people to defend themselves.

But we also need larger formations for force on force confrontations and provide quick reaction forces for both Afghan and NATO units.

But most importantly, we need boots on the ground to display a presence that convinces the locals they can be supportive without being abandoned. They've been abandoned by people who think like your and Ed for decades and that has to stop.

But most of all, it's time to turn this lawless land from a haven for terrorists and bandits into an orderly and economically viable society.

It may ultimately prove impossible in the manner in which I envision it, but it certainly isn't going to happen when the surrender monkeys and militant sympathizers (like yourself) try to prevent it from ever beginning.
