Probably already has been (at least, I believe that the odds are great that history will render a verdict that the total extent of the conflict has been hugely cost/ineffective... and that American strength has been weakened by placing the entire thing on our 'national credit card' instead of manning-up and paying for it. Our grandchildren will still be paying off the interest on the debt we have run up.)

Still, I expect that we have at least a middling chance, a 'puncher's chance', at pulling out something closer to a 'win' at the end.

But the KEY BATTLES (military, political, public relations) will be in PAKISTAN, not in Afghanistan so much. (And also in the Pak-Sunni-fundamentalists financial patron: Saudi Arabia.)
